01.12.2025 – REGISTRATION DEADLINE
In order to assure your participation in our tournament at the advertised rates and to be able to book the available types of accomodation, you need to register your team by this deadline and transfer the amount of pre-payment to our bank account.
20.12.2025 – DEADLINE OF PAYMENT
The outstanding amount of the participation fee (plus the costs of any additionally ordered optional services like AVA Passes or airport transfer) has to arrive to our bank-account.
09.01.2026 – DAY 1, TEAMS’ ARRIVAL AND MATCHES
The teams arrive, check in to their accommodation, and then the matches start according to the schedule.
10.01.2026 – DAY 2, MATCHES AND COACHES NIGHT
Games according to the schedule and Coaches Night.
11.01.2026 – DAY 3, FINALS, MEDAL CEREMONY AND TEAMS’ DEPARTURE
Games according to the schedule, finals and medal ceremony after each game,
Tournament Regulation:
To participate at AVA Trophy you must fulfill all the requirements and accept all the criteria imposed by the organizers!
ADMISSION RULES
- Players may compete for their club team according to their age category or in an older category.
- Circulation of a player between multiple teams of the same club in the same age category is not permitted.
- The player list is mandatory upon registration. Only players listed are allowed to participate in matches.
- Each team must consist of at least 12 players.
- Up to 16 players may be registered for each match, with names clearly indicated on the official match sheet.

What is a BLITZ TOURNAMENT?
GAME RULES
- Playing time: 2 × 15 minutes
- Half-time: 3 minutes
- Exclusion: 1 minute
- No timeouts allowed during the game
- Win = 2 points
- Draw = 1 point
- Loss = 0 points
BALL SIZE
- Size 1 – WU14(Junior 3 Girls)
- Size 2 – MU14(Junior 3 Boys)
IDENTIFICATION, CERTIFICATIONS, PLAYER DOCUMENTS
All participants must have:
- Valid passport or ID card
- The club and team officials are responsible for players’ medical insurance
- Officials must ensure all players are medically cleared to play sports by a doctor
All teams must be equipped with:
- Complete list of player names and contact details
- Two sets of complete sports uniforms in different colors
- Upon request, players must provide proper identification and proof of age at any time before the match
RULES OF THE GAME AND SPECIAL SITUATIONS
- Each team must have their own coach.
- IHF and Romanian Handball Federation rules apply, adapted to the special format of the competition.
- All rankings are established during the tournament.
- In case of a tie in points between two or more teams, ranking is determined in the following order:
1. Head-to-head results between tied teams
2. Goal difference in direct matches
3. Highest number of goals scored in direct matches
4. Goal difference in all matches
5. Highest number of goals scored in all matches - In placement matches and finals, if tied after regular time, 7-meter throws are used:
- 5 throws per team
- If still tied, sudden death continues until one team misses and the other scores
